NetApply to MBSWW MBA FAQ

NetApply FAQ - Online Application Center

Note: This section is built to answer questions related to the online application process only. For further questions on the application procedure, please contact the MBSWW Admissions Team
A. General System Requirements
Q1. What are the system requirements?
Note: NetApply will work equally well on both Windows and Mac OS

Q2. Which version of Acrobat is required?
Note: Adobe Reader is available for free download at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html
A2: Adobe Reader or Adobe Standard or Professional (version 7.0 and above).

Q3. What are the Internet / Firewall / Proxy Settings?
Note: Some large companies set up their firewalls so as to prevent Acrobat Reader from accessing the Internet. This can prevent your application from being submitted properly. In such situations, please contact your IT department and ask them to allow Adobe Reader to access the net or try working on your application on a different computer. In case your firewall is preventing you from submitting the application, you can either disable the firewall temporarily or configure Adobe just like a web browser through its properties menu.

B. Starting an application
Q4. Starting an application
A4:To begin your application to MBS Worldwide, please follow this procedure:
1. Download the online PDF Application Form and save it on your computer
2. Make sure you have downloaded the newest version of Adobe PDF Reader available from: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
or version 7.0 or higher of the Adobe Reader or Adobe Professional/Standard
Note: Some versions of the reader might return the error: "Cannot handle content type: text/html". This will not prevent your aplication from being submitted and you will recieve an apllication receipt in your mailbox (also accessible via the "show recipt" button on the PDF application).
3. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader
4. Go to File > Open > and navigate to the application file that you have just saved
5. Fill in a few fields such as your name, program, address and e-mail
6. Scroll down to generate the reference links, which are to be sent to your referees
7. Save your application
8. Now you can take all the time needed to complete your application
9. Once you have finished with all required fields, you can submit the document to the MBS Worldwide admissions office by clicking the Submit button.
Note: You must digitally sign your document. This is a security measure to avoid fraudulent applications or any other inconsistencies.
10. Good luck! Make sure to respect the deadlines!

Q5. I can’t open the application form. Error - Cannot decrypt the format. What should I do?
A5: Sometimes the system refuses to directly read a given document and open it (usually the result of previously installed software). In this instance, open the file from within Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 or higher on either PC or Mac. Then go to File > Open > and navigate to the place where you saved your application form.

Q6. Can I open the application file with Microsoft Word or an older version than Acrobat Reader 7?
A6: The MBA Application Form is a smart PDF document, which uses new and enhanced features that Adobe only introduced with their version 7 of the Acrobat Reader. The online application is not available in older versions of the Reader or in Word format. If you have trouble downloading the form, please contact NetApply2MBSWW@etheryl.com and ask for one to be forwarded to you.

Q7: I would like to apply for the MBA programme. Can you give me some more information?
A7: For further information on the MBA programmes and application process please visit the MBS Worldwide website, http://www.mbs-worldwide.ac.uk and consult their FAQs or contact the admissions office directly at: admissions@mbs-worldwide.ac.uk

Q8: I have a Mac and downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 but am still having problems downloading the MBA application file. Could you help me?
A8: Please open the application file directly from within Acrobat Reader 7.0 - if you double-click on a PDF in Mac OS X, it will likely open via Preview.app, which does not support sophisticated PDF files such as the MBS Worldwide application.

Q9: I want to change some information on my application form, but it is already locked. What should I do?

A9: For security and convenience reasons, some fields on the MBS Worldwide application form are automatically locked after you generate the reference links. If you need to change data in the locked fields, such as your date of birth for example, you need to export the data that you have already filled in and import it back into a blank document. How do you do that?
1. Go to Document > Form Data > Export Data from form
2. Save the file somewhere on your computer
3. Open a blank application form
4. Go to Document > Form Data > Import Data to form
Alternatively, you can use the Export Data/Import Data buttons available on the Application Tools page of your PDF application.

C. Reference Links
Q10: I have two reference links that were generated from the application form. To whom do I send them?
A10: The two links are to be sent to two respective referees of your choice. You can also track their status at a later stage by following the same links.

Q11: I generated the reference links twice. What should I do?
A11: Once generated the reference links can always be tracked in the system and matched to the appropriate application form. You would need to inform our technical support after you have submitted the application form so that we can assist in swapping the links if needed. Please send your links to: NetApply2MBSWW@etheryl.com

Q12: Can I submit paper-based references?
A12: Yes, you can submit paper-based references. However, completing the application online is recommended.

D. Digital Signature
Q13: What is a digital signature? How do I create one?
A13: For security reasons, each MBA Application form is required to be digitally signed. On page 17 of the application form in the statement of integrity pane, you will find the signature field. You can sign with an existing certificate that you may dispose of, or you can create a completely new one for the occasion. If you don’t know how, please follow the guidelines provided by Adobe:

E. Submitting the Form
Q14. I failed to submit my application. I did not receive a receipt by e-mail. What should I do?
A14: There are several possibilities for what could have caused this problem. Choose the one that suits you best:
1. If you receive an error message that brings you back to some fields that you left blank, you must complete them, as the MBS Worldwide admissions office requires that information.
2. If you have pressed the submit button, but nothing seems to happen, don’t give up, it could have worked nonetheless. The problem is most probably due to a bug in Adobe Acrobat Reader 7. To make sure that your application has been successfully submitted, please check your e-mail. If the application was successful you must have received a receipt containing your application ID number. If you are still unsure verify with NetApply2MBSWW@etheryl.com or contact the admissions office at: admissions@mbs-worldwide.ac.uk

Q15: Can I submit a paper-based application form?
A15: You may submit paper-based applications, but there is a £50 admin charge for this.

F. Online Payment
Q16. How do I make an application fee payment?
A16: The application fee for online applications has been waived.

G. Uploading a Photo
Q17: How do I upload my photo?
A17:Once you have submitted your application, you can upload your photo here. At the bottom of the page, please enter your Application Receipt ID and click submit.

Q18: I can’t upload my picture. Why? What should I do?
A18: Most often the reason for such a problem is either the size of the image file or the cropping process itself. If applicable, try reducing the image size and upload again. If you need assistance with cropping the photo, please follow the instructions below.
1. Click on the upload image button.
2. Click on the yellow rectangle and stretch or move it so that it forms a regular document size photo.
3. Click on the Crop image button.
4. Validate your upload.
