GEAO Privacy Guidelines
The Global Enterprise Architecture Organisation (GEAO) is committed
to protecting your privacy. The following guidelines explain what
personal information we ask for and why, how we use and protect it,
under what circumstances it may be disclosed by us, and how you can
correct or change it. Any changes to these guidelines will be posted on
this website.
What personal information is collected
This site logs IP addresses, pages accessed, and information about
your computer, such as the browser and operating system. We collect
personal information about you when you apply to become a member,
request certain products or services, or otherwise contact or do
business with us. When you apply at this site to become a member of
GEAO, we ask for your name, address, other contact information,
employment information and educational background. As an organisation of
Enterprise Architecture professionals, GEAO requires this information to determine
your level and qualifications for membership. The membership application
at this site also requires credit card information for payment of
membership fees and subscriptions.
How we use your personal information
The information we collect is used to serve you better. It is also
used to provide you with membership services, including the processing
of membership applications and renewals, and maintaining accurate
membership records. We may also use this information to provide you with
information about services, training and events that we believe you may
be interested in.
What happens if you do not provide this information
If you do not provide the information required, we may be unable to
process your membership application or provide membership services or
other information to you.
How we protect your information
We have security measures designed to protect against the loss,
misuse and / or alteration of the Information under our control,
including firewalls, password protections and other security mechanisms
within our database.
Who we disclose information to
Information held by us may be disclosed to the following parties for
the following purposes: We will confirm your membership of GEAO to
members of the public and to other professional bodies upon request. We
may provide information to our suppliers and business partners to enable
additional membership services or other information to be provided to
you. You must notify us if you do not wish this information to be
disclosed. We may incorporate some information into aggregate (ie. not
individual) reports, which may be used by us or by our business partners
to review statistics or analyse trends. These reports will not include
any personally identifiable information.
We also provide membership information to other members. Members will
be able to see the names of other GEAO members, and get additional
information about a member where that member has indicated in their
profile what other information they want to "publish" (ie. disclose) to
the other members.
How you can update or correct your information
You can contact us at any time to obtain access to and update or
correct any personal information held by us, or request that you be
removed from any of our mailing lists.
