GEAO certified Enterprise Architects are associated with a high level
of excellence and are globally recognised for their significant
contribution to the success of organisations. GEAO certification is an
experience based credential that is focussed on practical proficiency.
As a GEAO certified Enterprise Architect you will be entitled to full
membership of the organisation. Once you have become certified, your
career accreditation can progress as you reach the grades of Associate
Fellow and Fellow.

Assessment framework
GEAO will assess candidates against a set of certification
criteria and candidates must convincingly demonstrate that they meet
those criteria. The following picture shows the three key strands in the
certification and how they fit into the
professional practice.

Certification requirements
The key requirements for each strand in the certification framework are
summarised below:
What you KNOW
- You have a formal degree of higher education in the field of Enterprise
Architecture. Other formal courses and certification programs in
Enterprise Architecture may be used as a credit towards
certification.
- You demonstrate mastery on an Enterprise Architecture knowledge
subject by writing a peer reviewed article for the GEAO Journal. Our
editorial board will be able to assist you in reviewing your article
to reach publication standards.
What you DO
- You are currently an Enterprise Architecture practitioner.
- You have at least five years full-lifecycle demonstrated
experience as an Enterprise Architect. A detailed description of
your activities in at least three full-lifecycle Enterprise
Architecture engagements is part of the assessment.
What you ARE
- You are a member of GEAO (associate or corporate)
- You adhere to GEAO's values-based code of Enterprise
Architecture ethics.
Costs
The certification fee for full member competency will be US$490.=
and will not be refundable. Your existing membership fee will be
changed to full membership fee at your next membership due date once you get certified.
