Background & Mission

The American University Clubs of France (AUC France) groups together the alumni associations in France of leading American universities. Each member Club is still an autonomous unit, running its own affairs; the AUC structure simply provides an interchange of ideas and mutual support.

With over 4,000 American, French and other alumni in Ile-de-France alone, AUC France's member Clubs represent an exceptional cross-section of the international community in France from a wide array of backgrounds including business, politics, media, law, diplomacy and the arts.

The members of AUC France and other alumni Clubs have been cooperating informally for ten years. 2003 is the first year that the formal structure of a French non-profit "Association loi 1901" has been created for the group. Statutes were filed at the Préfecture de Paris on April 23, 2003.

Mission and Activities

AUC France is dedicated to fostering closer ties and cooperation among its member alumni organizations and their members.

AUC France together with other alumni groups organizes the popular Alumni Embassy Cocktail each spring, as well as other events that appeal to the alumni community. In addition, an AUC member Club can invite other member Clubs to its own event, to reach a wider audience, help its members meet other US alumni, and defray costs.

Twice yearly the leaders of member Club meet in a Presidents Council to discuss coordinating events and other issues.
